liloの設定ファイルをkiyoshi's helpで読み込もう

昔Linuxのカーネルローダーとして広く使われていたliloはgrubにシェアを奪われ、ほぼ使われなくなったと思っていた。
それで、kiyoshi's helpで読み込ませてもあまり意味が無いと思っていました。

でも、最近開発が再開されたようです。
Lilo: Linux Boot Loader

で、読み込ませてみようかと思っています。

設定ファイルlilo.confの書式については

・・・って、前も同じことを書いていたような気がする。
でも、真剣には読んではいなかったので。

まず、
boot=/dev/カーネルの存在するメディアのデバイスファイル名
でHDDが決まり、
imageとかothersの前の
一発目の
root=/dev/カーネルの存在するパーティションのデバイスファイル名
でパーティションが決まり、
image=カーネルファイル名
からが一区切りで、
append="カーネルに渡すパラメータ"
initrd=initramfsのファイル名
root=/dev/rootパーティションのデバイスファイル名
らしい。他にも多くのパラメーターが使用できる。
例えば、
read-only

read-write
これはカーネルにrootパーティションを読み込みのみか読み書き可能でマウントするかを決めます。
Ubuntuのroとrwの違いですね。
literal=
はappend=と似ていますが、他のオプションを無効にするらしいです。
ramdisk=ラムディスクのサイズ
もあります。
つまり、kexec-toolsでやるなら、
lilo.conf
の最初の
root=・・・
行を見つけて/mntにマウント。ただし、hdaとsdaの違いに注意すべきかも。
image=
毎に設定を読み込み、リスト表示させ、選択させる。
選択されたらその
image=
の後をカーネルにセット。
literal=・・・
があれば、--append="・・・"
なければ、
root=・・・
の行と
append=・・・
の・・・を--append="ここ"に入れます。
そして
initrd=・・・

--initrd=・・・
簡単簡単♪

read-only

read-write
は確か、Ubuntuのinitrd.imgの中のinitが自動的に判定していたような記憶があります(あやふやですが)。
なので、そのままカーネルオプションに加えれば良さそうです。

使い方はLinux 起動用initスクリプトver.9と同じです。

少なくとも、Ubuntu10.04(カーネル2.6.32.24&2.6.32.25)を/boot/grub/grub.cfg(grub2の)を読み込ませて、またはデフォルト設定で起動できました。
また、CentOSを/boot/grub/menu.lst(grub legacyの)を読み込ませて起動することができました。
